Experience & Activities

Several attempts have been made to unite our fellow bus owners and bring the transport community together under one roof, with a common agenda to fight for our rights. However, most of these attempts either failed or simply could not sustain the overwhelming resistance and pressures, be it political or personal, with a major issue arising from the fact that our community has been perceived as a competitor to the State Transport Undertaking of Maharashtra. 

It was in 2009 however, when two of our fellow bus owners, took on the responsibility and founded the “Mumbai Bus Malak Sangathana”. It was an association formed with the intention to loop in like-minded bus owners, and became the building blocks of an umbrella organisation for all bus owners in the MMR to put forward their grievances, feel a sense of camaraderie in our industry, and grow together. 

The last 12 years have been challenging no doubt, with our entire industry having faced major ups and downs, but it has been our constant effort to jointly resolve issues and be there for each other. 

I, Harsh Kotak, am honoured to be able to serve my brethren, by performing my duties as the General Secretary of our organisation, and I pledge to resolve as many issues as possible to the best of my abilities.
